This program, for kids ages 10 and up, takes our autumn Wild for a Day to the next level! It's a bit more challenging - we'll spend six full hours in the woods sharpening our survival skills while constructing shelters, foraging for wild edibles, making a fire, and more! We'll hike from the parking area to a spot deep in the woods and set up a realistic survival camp, so be sure to dress for the weather! You'll need a day pack with your lunch, drinks, and snacks. You'll also need a basic survival kit: insect repellent, a poncho, some cordage or twine, a canteen (or water bottle), compass, and water purification tablets (if you can't find them we'll have extra). Parents are encouraged to drop their kids off for the day and pick them up at 4pm. Look forward to a fun and educational day at the Franklin Parker Preserve, in the heart of the beautiful Pine Barrens!
